The 2009 UK Boogie Woogie Festival is shaping up to be another exciting musical event.
Date : July 3rd - 5th, 2009 : Pianists, Little Willie Littlefield, Martijn Schok + many others!

Welcome to UKBoogieWoogie.com, the Official Website of the Dorset based Boogie Woogie Club with regular monthly Meetings and a spectacular annual summer weekend International Festival.

The UK Boogie Woogie Festival is held every year in July and attracts many of the worlds best Pianists, who offer up a fabulous melting pot of true old-time Boogie Woogie & Blues Piano Music.

The organisers, all local to the town of Sturminster Newton where the event is held, recognise that as well as being a truly great International event that draws people from far and wide, it is also a very important community event with considerable local support.

Events Summary : The 5th UK Boogie Woogie Festival will take place over the weekend of July 3rd-5th 2009, at various venues around Sturminster Newton, Dorset. {More details ....}

The next UK Boogie Woogie Club Meeting will take place on Monday 2nd March at The British Legion, Sturminster Newton. Start Time 7.30PM, Non-members welcome. {More details ....}

The UK Boogie Woogie Club has been launched as a kind of 'Supporters Club', with regular monthly meetings and events taking place at The Royal British Legion in Sturminster Newton. These meetings are usually on the first Monday of the Month.

Club nights will nearly always include informal evenings of live Boogie Woogie and Blues Music, with resident pianist/vocalist Julian Phillips, & also other specially invited Guest Musicians.

The Youth Showcase was a new event for the 2008 Festival. It's aim is the highlight and promote the talents and progress of the many young pianists, musicians and dancers who all come to the Festival. The event took place at the main Sturminster Exchange Concert Venue.

Julian Phillips opened with a quick welcome to all those present, and started the proceedings with a great little Boogie piece called "The Chicken Song". Playing with Julian are other Band Members from 'The Stuff', and Special Guest Pianist Yvon Momboisse, from France.
